TARA –Theft Apprehension and Asset Recovery Application
WHAT IS TARA?
TARA or the Theft Apprehension and Asset Recovery Application is an advanced, complete Anti-Theft Technology exclusive to MyPhone. This mobile phone application renders the handset useless in case of theft via the full system lock feature. This proudly Filipino application is the first in the world technology of its kind. TARA was developed in an effort to respond to the increasing number of mobile phone theft, which has resulted in security concerns for every mobile phone owner which may lead not only to loss of device, but at some instances loss of life as well.
WHAT ARE THE APPLICABLE USAGE FEES AND PERIOD FOR THE USE OF THIS
The use of TARA on your mobile phone is FREE OF CHARGE. End users only have to do a one-time registration to activate the application.
HOW DO I CREATE MY TARA ACCOUNT?
Register your TARA account right on your mobile. While TARA registration is not charged, you need mobile prepaid balance to register. Upon registration, you must fill out the following details:
-Secondary Mobile Number
-Unique 6-Digit PIN
-Active email address
Note: Make sure to keep a personal, private record of your unique PIN, secondary mobile phone number, and e-mail address.
IN WHAT PHONE MODELS AND BRANDS IS TARA AVAILABLE?
TARA is available on MyPhone Agua (Android) product line. Currently, it is pre-
embedded on MyPhone Agua ICEBERG, MyPhone Agua Vortex, MyPhone Agua Rain, and A888 Duo.
Note: Some may encounter TARA on other mobile phone brand/s and platforms such as the Google Play Store. Version of TARA on other phone brands is for DEMO purposes only, and does not include support (i.e. hotline services to activate TARA), as early in the app's development, the technology was presented to other mobile phone companies by MyPhone's developer-partner. On the other hand, TARA downloadable on Google Play Store is for registration only. To date, the complete and fully operational version of TARA and the rights to its use are only available on MyPhone mobile phones.
WHAT ARE THE FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS OFFERED BY TARA?
TARA offers the kill switch function. It sets a loud alarm (MAGNANAKAW! MAGNANAKAW!) on stolen mobile handsets, and consequently activate a full system lock. With the phone on full system lock, no key or feature may be used as the alarm remains active. Data wipe feature may only be activated upon request on the TARA hotline number.
HOW DO I ACTIVATE TARA?
Once you have realized that your phone is stolen, you may activate TARA via 1) text or 2) call.
1. Text LOCK+6-Digit PIN (e.g. LOCK123456), and send to the mobile
phone number of the SIM card inserted on the stolen device.
2. Call TARA hotline numbers.

Upon calling the hotline, you will be requested to give your secondary mobile phone number for confirmation.
HOW CAN I DEACTIVATE THE TARA ALARM?
TARA may only be deactived by the device owner. To deactivate, text UNLOCK+6-Digit PIN to the mobile number of the SIM card inserted on the stolen device.
Should the TARA Alarm still ring even after texting the UNLOCK code, call the hotline so the attendants may deactivate it for you.
CAN TARA STILL BE ACTIVATED EVEN IF THE MOBILE PHONE IS ON SILENT MODE OR REPLACED WITH NEW SIM CARD/S?
Yes. Even if the mobile phone is on Silent Mode or replaced with a new SIM CARD,
TARA and its features can still be activated. Moreover, the MAGNANAKAW Alarm will continuously ring once set off, and while the device's power is on.
Please note of the following measures when activating TARA:
1. If phone theft is not detected at once, thus, the possibility of the SIM card to
have been removed already, call the TARA hotline number/s to request for
activation of the Anti-Theft App.

CAN TARA BE REMOVED OR UNINSTALLED FROM THE DEVICE?
No. TARA is embedded on the MyPhone devices at the chipset level. Thus, this Anti-Theft Technology may not be uninstalled or removed even when any of the following is performed on the device:
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING TARA?
MyPhone and TARA do not guarantee cellphone theft prevention nor stolen phone recovery. However, such technology sends a warning to thieves that cellphone theft is now easier to detect and report. More importantly, a phone equipped with TARA can be rendered unusable, thus, of no monetary value to thieves.
This then gives end users a sense of security-- that their gadget is no longer a “source of income” for thieves or snatchers. A cellphone is now a weapon which can discourage thieves from stealing or even send them off to jail.
I WANT TO RESELL MY DEVICE. CAN THE NEW USER REGISTER HIS/HER OWN TARA ACCOUNT ON THE SAME DEVICE?
Yes, your TARA account on the device may be deactivated so that the new user can register his or her account. To deactivate your account, call the hotline and supply your 6-digit PIN, number of the SIM card currently inserted on the device.
CAN I CHANGE MY TARA REGISTRATION INFORMATION (i.e. E-MAIL, SECONDARY MOBILE PHONE NUMBER, PIN)?
Yes. Call the hotline for assistance on changing your TARA registration information.
